Colors of Perseverance: The Life and Legacy of My Mother

Limited Collection

A collection of paintings inspired by my mother’s life journey—a path shaped by challenges from childhood that made her stronger and more resilient. A woman who, adrift in the vast ocean of hardship and dreams, found within herself the strength to rise above every wave. In the heart of life’s turbulent seas, she became an artist of resilience, painting a new world of beauty and hope for herself and her children.

The story of an exile

Size: 120 * 90 cm

One hundred and eight years ago, Fleeing the Bolsheviks with no time to plan, my grandfather, Salman, left home and family behind. As he crossed the Aras River toward Iran, hopelessness gripped him—until his horse defied the raging waters, carrying him safely across.

Stepping onto new soil, exile became rebirth. In loss, he found resilience. In uncertainty, he discovered hope. His journey was not just survival, but the start of a life remade.

Fateme's birth

Size: 120 * 90 cm

After twelve years, Salman married a woman named Showkat. Their union brought forth two daughters, the first of whom was Fateme, my mother.

In the picture, Salman and Showkat stand together, accompanied by Showkat's two children from a previous marriage. In the corner, Salman’s sister, who had followed her brother’s path and migrated to Iran, is also present. Their lives, intertwined by fate and resilience, mark another chapter in a journey shaped by love, loss, and new beginnings.

Love Without Destiny

Size: 120 * 90 cm

With a heart full of youthful dreams, Fateme married Hassan, the boy next door. She envisioned a life woven with love and promise, but fate had other plans.

One by one, her dreams faded, carried away like leaves in the wind, leaving behind a story not of romance but of resilience.

The birth of Khorshid

Size: 120 * 90 cm

Years after giving birth to her five sons, Fateme welcomed another child—a daughter they named Khorshid, meaning "Sun." In time, she became known as Paris, a name that carried its own light.

As Fateme immersed herself in moments of artistic creation, Paris watched, absorbed, and found inspiration in her mother’s touch. The spark of creativity passed from mother to daughter, shaping Paris's artistic spirit, a quiet legacy woven through generations.

Fateme's last journey

Size: 120 * 90 cm

Fateme faced a lifetime of hardship, but never lost her love for life. Despite her own struggles, she remained Paris’s unwavering source of strength.

In the image, Paris sits by Fateme’s side, newly arrived from afar, while the spirits of her two late brothers linger close. A hoopoe, symbolizing wisdom, serves as a tribute, capturing not separation, but Fateme’s final flight toward light and peace.

For me, art is beyond value—it’s emotion, expression, and connection. However, if one of my pieces speaks to you, I’d be happy to share more details. Feel free to reach out
